The Town of Parker is excited to bring back in full our traditional Independence Day event – Parker Stars and Stripes Celebration. Save the date for Monday, July 4, pack your blankets and lawn chairs, and set up for an evening packed with family fun.
Salisbury Park grounds will be open to attendees with the central multi-purpose field featuring the music stage. Free event activities include a concert of 80s hits from 6 Million Dollar Band, walk-around entertainers and a carnival. Low-cost activities include a tot train, face painting, bungee jumping and light-up toy vendor, plus a variety of food vendors.
While this is a free event to attend, there is an onsite parking fee of $10/vehicle that will be collected at park entry, cash only. Parking is first-come, first-served and is expected to fill to capacity.
In lieu of fireworks, this year’s celebration will conclude with a new and innovative 150-drone light show. The 12-minute aerial display will start at 9:30 p.m. and feature multiple designs and choreographed movements from a fleet of drones set to patriotic music. Drones will fly 400 feet into the air above Salisbury Park and be visible from up to two miles away, depending on vantage point. Please note, the optimal viewing experience will be from Salisbury Park at the event.
The All American Pass, an optional event upgrade, returns for 2022 and includes seating on the ballfields, exclusive access to inflatables, dedicated portable restrooms and other bonus entertainment.

The 2022 event will be very similar to the look at feel of 2019, which was the last year our full-scale event was held prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The location, date, time, parking costs and band (6 Million Dollar Band) are the same. Many of the food vendors (Comforts of Home, Cyndy’s Food-Lish-Us, DC Concessions, Kona Ice, La Hacienda, Olde Tyme Kettle Corn and WeChef) and pay-for-play vendors (face painters, tot train, light-up toys) have returned, as well.
In the general admission area, we have added a few new food vendors, a new pay-for-play bungee jump opportunity, a free carnival alley with prizes (14 carnival booths) and some walk-around entertainment. In lieu of fireworks, this year’s celebration will conclude with a new and innovative 150-drone light show. In addition to the general admission area, the All American Experience Pass, an optional event upgrade, is returning for 2022. For 2022, the inflatables that were previously on the general admission grass are now being placed in a ballfield and will be exclusively available for those that purchase an All American Experience Pass.
With recent fire events across our region, ongoing drought conditions and fire ban risk, the Town of Parker has chosen to try a new and innovative finale experience—a drone light show—for the 2022 Parker Stars and Stripes Celebration. The 12-minute display above Salisbury Park will start at 9:30 p.m. and feature multiple designs and choreographed movements from a fleet of drones set to patriotic music.
The Town recognizes the beloved tradition of Independence Day fireworks. As such, the drone light show finale is a one-year trial for 2022. Following the event, the finale experience will be evaluated, with the option to return to a firework display or continue with the drone display in 2023.
