Please be advised that the Town of Parker Building Division has modified its services including the process for inspections as a result of the Town’s declaration of a Local Emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and previously declared State and Federal emergencies. The Parker Building Division is taking additional precautions to provide for recommended social spacing and reduce exposure between the public and staff. This is a temporary change in the inspection process that is intended to protect the health of residents, staff and workers on construction projects. This does not allow work that requires inspections to be covered or concealed until such time that it can be inspected and approved. Building Division staff will review requests for inspection each day and contact permit applicants and/or the contractor to discuss the possibility of COVID-19 being present on the construction site. If there is a known or suspected COVID-19 exposure, staff will work with the permit applicant and/or the contractor to reschedule the inspection for a future date. We ask that all permit applicants and contractors work with us to communicate known or suspected illnesses to reduce the potential for community spread of COVID-19 and ensure the continued health of residents, staff and workers.
During the Local Emergency, the Building Division offices will be open for business from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. even though Town Hall is closed to the public. The Division staff will continue to answer phones, respond to emails, process permit applications through eTRAKiT, review plans and work to ensure that construction is done in accordance with all building and fire/life safety codes. All permit applicants and/or contractors may pay for their permits by mailing a check or cash to: Town of Parker, Building Division, 20120 E. Mainstreet, Parker, CO 80138-7335. Payment may also be made by credit card through a permit applicant’s and/or contractor’s eTRAKiT account via the Town web site.

The Parker Building Division enforces the requirements of the adopted building, fire, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical codes in a professional and unbiased manner. We provide quality customer service in a timely and courteous manner and earn the respect of the citizens and contractors.
The Building Division handles the building permit process, plan review, oversees the Board of Appeals and enforces the adopted building codes.
Changes to state law (Senate Bill 15-202) create new requirements for water conditioning installations. Effective April 1, 2016, anyone installing water conditioners must be registered with the State Plumbing Board or be a licensed plumber. There are three new registration types for non-plumbers to perform water-conditioning installation.

To make sure that your contractor has obtained a permit, please call the Building Permit Counter at 303.841.1970, give us your address and we can tell if a permit has been applied for and issued.
In order to ensure complete applications, Pre-Application Meetings are offered as an informal/preliminary exchange of information between the Town of Parker Building Division and applicants. These meetings discuss current applicable codes, plan preparation, review process, submittal requirements for particular projects, and any general concerns pertaining to the project. The Town of Parker’s Building Division has introduced two new programs to assist homeowners, contractors and small business owners with their next building or remodeling project.
As a homeowner, are you having trouble getting started with your do-it-yourself project (decks, basements, covers, etc…)? The new EZ Residential Permits program gives you the opportunity to work directly with our experienced Building Division staff in a one-on-one meeting. A form will be sent via email one week in advance of your meeting so we can gather information about your project. If you don’t have a plan, no worries! We will provide the paper, pencil (erasers) and rulers. These meetings are scheduled every Wednesday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. for approximately 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the scope of work. Also, please save the date for our last Homeowner Class of 2018 on Nov. 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. We hope to see you there!
Contractors, small business owners and other commercial people, don’t feel left out, because we have thought of you, as well! Our new EZ Commercial Permits program offers a similar system for you on those small, minor, non-structural remodels. The goal is to get the permit issued over the counter, but if your project is a little more involved, then we will at least get you pointed in the right direction. If the space is less than 1,200 square feet with no fire suppression or alarm systems, is not a change of occupancy and there are no exterior modifications, then your project may qualify for this program.
