The Mainstreet Roadway Reconstruction Project is in full swing and progressing according to schedule.
Concrete pavement panel replacement and grinding on Mainstreet, east and westbound lanes, from Bradbury Ranch Drive to Jordan Road is complete. Panel replacement and grinding on Jordan Road, southbound lanes, from Mainstreet north for approximately one-half mile is underway and should be finished in early September. This work has been expanded and will also extend down south to Cedar Gulch Parkway and be completed in September. Additionally, reconstruction of the eastbound lanes of Mainstreet from Jordan Road to Motsenbocker Road is also nearly complete.
Due to work related to this project, a a six-day closure of the south side of the Mainstreet-Motsenbocker intersection is scheduled to begin on Aug. 1.
This closure will limit access to the Clarke Farms subdivision located south of Mainstreet to allow for replacement of the intersection pavement. Those Clarke Farms residents who live south of Mainstreet will be directed to use alternate routes such as Todd Drive to the west and Hess Road to the south.
We appreciate your patience during this brief closure.
About this Project
The Town of Parker's 2016 Townwide Roadway Reconstruct Program will include concrete pavement panel replacement and grinding on Mainstreet, east and westbound lanes, from Bradbury Ranch Drive to Jordan Road and on Jordan Road, southbound lanes, from Mainstreet north for approximately one-half mile.
In addition, reconstruction of the eastbound lanes of Mainstreet from Jordan Road to Motsenbocker Road will also be included with this vital project.
Panel replacement began in late April followed by grinding. Mainstreet reconstruction commenced following area school dismissals for summer in early June. Work consists of removing the existing eastbound concrete pavement and replacing it with asphalt pavement.
As a result of this project, the eastbound lanes of Mainstreet will be closed and the existing westbound lanes (north lanes) will be converted to two-way traffic (one lane each direction). This temporary four-lane to two-lane conversion will last about two months. Once the contractor has completed construction through this section, the eastbound asphalt lanes will be reopened to their current configuration.
Total costs for this project will be approximately $1.7 million. Updates on this project and other Town capital improvement projects can be found online at www.ParkerOnline.org/CIPUpdate.
The project scheduled for Summer 2016 will be the second half of a two-year project that will completely reconstruct Mainstreet between Jordan Road and Motsenbocker Road. The westbound lanes (north side of the street) were reconstructed in 2015 at a cost of $1.2 million.
