Meet Our Staff - Brooke Spain
Community events are a big part of what makes Parker such a special place to live. Meet the Town’s Special Events and Sponsorship Coordinator, Brooke Spain! Brooke plans Bike to Work Day, Parker’s Stars and Stripes Celebration, Mayor’s Holiday Lighting, Holiday Carriage Rides, and Christmas Carriage Parade, among others. She also works hard to bring in sponsorships funds to enable the Town to keep providing free or low-cost events to our community.

How long have you worked for the Town of Parker? Where did you work before Parker?
"I’ve worked for Parker for just over two years. Prior to working for the Town, I planned events for non-profit organizations such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Muscular Dystrophy Association."
What made you want to work for the Town?
"My husband and I chose to make Parker our home in 2004 and love raising our two boys in this community. We had wonderful experiences participating in all of the Town events and I really wanted to put my talents and time to work for the benefit of my community. I love that I live, work, play and am raising kids in Parker and love contributing to the effort to keep our hometown feel."
What do you most enjoy about working for the Town of Parker?
"The people! All of the Town staff really do try our hardest to provide the best service we can to our community. In my job I have the privilege of working closely with staff throughout the organization and I have built many strong connections in my time here. I also love being able to create fun events that bring the community together and seeing the smiles and memories that our Town events help create!"
What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?
"While I am an extrovert at work and a “planner” in both my personal and work lives, I prefer smaller one-on-one interactions over large gatherings and would rather “stay in” than go out."
What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
"Pre-kids I would have said my favorite thing to do is read. Now, I don’t think I can remember the last book that I read! I spend lots of time at my kids’ sporting activities and our family also loves to hike and ski."
What’s one thing that you feel sets Parker apart from other communities?
"The people and location. I think Parker is a very good mix of “hometown” and suburbia. I grew up in a small town in southern Minnesota and we had a County Fair, but nothing to the extent of events that we have in Parker. Growing up, we also had to drive to another community for many things like Target, major grocery stores, movies and entertainment. I like that we have many great services available locally, but we are close enough to go to Denver for a night."
If you could do another job for the Town of Parker for just one day, what would it be?
"I think it would be fun to drive a snow plow or work in Police Dispatch."
What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
"Chocolate (and my family of course)!"
What accomplishment are you most proud of since you started working for the Town of Parker?
"I’m most proud of the recent changes to the format to the Mayor’s Holiday Lighting event, as well as being able to increase sponsorship involvement so we can continue to add new elements to our events."
Thanks, Brooke, for all you do for the Parker community!
