How long have you worked for the Town of Parker? Where did you work before Parker?
"I’ve worked for the Town just under a year as a Development Review Engineer. Prior to working for the Town, I was a concrete tester for the City of Denver at Denver International Airport (DIA)."
What made you want to work for the Town?
"I chose civil engineering because I wanted to be able to make significant contributions to my community. I grew up in Parker and I’m extremely grateful that my job allows me to ensure development in the Town is conducted safely and efficiently."
Please give a brief overview of what your job entails and how it impacts the Parker community.
"Before a lot can be developed in Parker, I review development plans to make sure the engineering is correct and complies with Town criteria. Once the plans are approved, I inspect the work during construction. Through review and inspection, the Engineering and Public Works Department requires that the developer to provide the best possible product to the Town."
What do you most enjoy about working for the Town of Parker?
"The best thing about working for Parker, particularly the Engineering Department, is that I get to develop my skills by learning from extremely experienced and knowledgeable engineers and inspectors."
What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?
"I love listening to classical music, especially when I work. This surprises most people because I’ve been to around 20 rock/metal concerts in the last couple years."
What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
"I enjoy playing pickup and rec-league sports with my friends."
What’s one thing that you feel sets Parker apart from other communities?
"Even though Parker has changed so much since I first moved here, it has still retained the small town feel."
What is the most interesting place you’ve ever visited?
"The Coba ruins in Mexico. We were able to climb the pyramid shortly before it was closed to the public."
What accomplishment are you most proud of since you started working for the Town of Parker?
"Earlier this year, a water line under Cottonwood Drive discharged 500,000 gallons of water under the road, causing several sections of the road to fail. Another inspector and I were able to safely shift the traffic to the other side of the street during rush hour until the appropriate repairs were made."
Thanks, Tyler, for all you do for the Parker community!
