Teen Court Volunteers

Become Part of the Teen Court Program
Parker Teen Court accepts applications from new members on a rolling basis throughout the year. Applicants must be between the ages of 12 and 17 years old. No experience is required. Once accepted into the program, new members can begin observing hearings. All volunteers must complete General Legal Training within their first year of joining. This is a 12 hour intensive course that teaches concepts relating to restorative justice, ethics, professionalism, and the court system. The training concludes with mock trials and an induction ceremony. The next General Legal Training for new members is scheduled for April 2016. If you would like to join please fill out the Teen Court Application and submit to the Teen Court office located at 20120 E. Mainstreet, Parker, Colorado 80138.

  • Prosecuting Attorney
  • Defense Attorney
  • Judge

General Legal Training Schedule 2016

Training Goals

  • To familiarize new members with the concept of Teen Court;
  • To teach skills necessary to be an effective Teen Court volunteer;
  • To foster trust, respect and team work among the members;
  • To teach the principles of restorative justice, not punishment, as an appropriate response to youth who break the law;
  • To encourage ownership of the program while instilling professionalism and ethics;
  • To build public speaking ability and critical thinking skills.

The next General Legal training for new member starts in April 2016.

Adult Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Parker Teen Court. We are always looking for committed and professional adult volunteers to help with peer panels, trials, trainings and special events. No legal experience is required, however it is helpful. Law students and undergraduates are encouraged to join. 

All adult volunteers must complete an online application and successfully pass a background check before joining. Please review the Adult Volunteer Information packet. All of the information you need to get started as a Teen Court volunteer is included here. Once you have reviewed the information, please visit www.ParkerOnline.org, where you will find the volunteer application under the Employment tab. Make sure to click “Volunteer Opportunities”, listed on the left hand side of the page, which will direct you to the Teen Court Volunteer application. All adult volunteers are required to complete the application online before participating in Teen Court.
