The 2010s were a memorable time for the Town of Parker. Here’s our look back on a few notable numbers from the most-recent decade.
7: Seven new facilities and parks were opened including the PACE Center, Parker Police Department, Public Works Operations Center, Discovery Park, USMC CPL David M. Sonka Dog Park, Westcreek Disc Golf Course and Preservation Park and Trailhead.
500,000: Parker’s Streets Maintenance Division treated more than 500,000 miles of roadways in response to winter storm events. This division of the Engineering and Public Works Department completed more than 124,000 miles worth of snow and ice operations in 2013 alone!
1,800: Number of performances presented on the PACE Center’s Mainstage Theater and at The Schoolhouse Theater.
450: One lap around the seasonal Parker Ice Trail at Discovery Park is 450 feet. The skating path opened in 2017 as one of the nation’s first ice ribbons.
30: Incorporated May 5, 1981, the Town celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2011 with special festivities during the Let Freedom Sing Independence Day event.
100,000: Parker was honored to host the 2013 Solheim Cup, which brought more than 100,000 visitors to our community. This biennial all-women’s golf tournament hosts America’s and Europe’s best professionals for three days of competition.
100: A pair of Town facilities marked their respective centennials — Ruth Memorial Chapel, which was dedicated in 1913, and The Schoolhouse, originally opened in 1915. Today, these 100-plus year old facilities are used for community, cultural and other special events.
53,500: Let’s Talk Parker, the Town’s community engagement platform, has recorded more than 53,000 visits since launching in 2018. With a quick registration, participants can take surveys, share ideas and get involved with ongoing projects and initiatives.
6,902: Social media continued to change the lines of communication between the Town and its residents. Representing the newest Town social media platform, our Instagram accounts (@TownofParkerCO, @ParkerRec, @ParkerArtsCO) collectively have more than 6,900 followers.
21: The Parker Police Department added 21 officers to its team over the decade, increasing from 55 officers in 2010 to 76 at the end of 2019.
