Town of Parker turns 40:
May 5 marks the 40th anniversary of Parker’s incorporation. On that date back in 1981, the Town had a population of just 285 and comprised one square mile. Today, Parker is home to 57,000 residents, spans 20 square miles, and is consistently ranked as one of the best places to live and raise a family in America.

2021 events lineup announced:
The Town is excited to roll out this year’s community events and activities schedule. Save the dates for these celebrations and find preliminary information about each on the Community Events and Activities webpage.

• Fireworks on the Fourth: July 4 at Salisbury Park
• Bike to Work Day: Sept. 22 at E-470 overpass of Cherry Creek Trail
• Parker Fall Fest: Sept. 25 to Oct. 2 in Downtown Parker
• Porch Parade Series: Halloween and Christmas home decorating contests
• Mayor’s Holiday Lighting: Nov. 26 at O’Brien Park
• Hometown Holiday Experience: Nov. 26 to Jan. 4 in Downtown Parker

How to keep up with seasonal road construction:
Road construction season continues to ramp up. The Town offers several resources for staying informed with these projects, including an interactive 2021 Street Maintenance Map and Capital Improvement Project Update. You may also contact the Public Works and Engineering Department with construction-related questions at 303.840.9546.

Several projects will also be taking place near, but outside of, the Town boundaries this spring and summer. Visit Douglas County’s road work website for information on those additional projects.

 
Town Hall and meetings reopen to the public:
Beginning Monday, May 3, regular Town Council meetings will reopen to the public. Town Council study sessions will reopen with the May 10 meeting. The Special Licensing Authority and Parker Planning Commission will reopen their meetings on May 20 and May 27, respectively. 

Under the Governor’s current Public Health Order, a limit of 100 attendees will apply to each meeting and face coverings must be worn. A Zoom broadcast will remain in place for those who prefer to continue virtual meeting attendance. Additional details about public meetings may be found on the Town’s community calendar.

On Monday, May 17, Town Hall will reopen to the public and appointments will no longer be required for most general services. Regular hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. will resume. The statewide mask mandate is still in effect and patrons are asked to refrain from visiting Town Hall if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 or other illnesses. Monthly public meetings:
Parker Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Mondays, May 3 and 17. The Council will hold study sessions at 5 p.m. on Mondays, May 10 and 24.

Parker Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursdays, May 13 and 27.

Parker Special Licensing Authority will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 20.
