Meet-Our-Department-IT

Though not one of the most public-facing departments within the Town, the efforts of the Information Technology/GIS Department provide Parker residents with access to a slate of digital resources, keeping them informed of important information and connected to Town operations. By maintaining the Town's digital infrastructure, this department keeps others within the Town functioning at their best as well.

Department overview:
The Information Technology Department is responsible for computer and server maintenance and replacement, software management and licensing, network administration, data security, data backup and recovery, GIS (geographic information system) mapping, LMS (learning management system) system administration, end user support and technical support for all Town departments.

How does this department impact daily life for Parker residents? 
Administration of the LMS system (TRAKiT) for residents, businesses, contractors, developers, and referral agencies. Also, the IT Department provides free guest Wi-Fi in Discovery Park and all other public Town facilities. The department also developed the new Active Development Tour Map, which shows projects being developed in Parker. View the map at www.ParkerOnline.org/Development.

What would residents be surprised to learn about this department? 
Because IT supports the Parker Police Department, all members of the department are CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Systems) Level 4 security certified.
