Start Turkey Day with a 5K:
Parker Parks and Recreation hosts the Turkey Day 5K FUN Run/Walk with RNK Running & Walking on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 25.
The family-friendly race begins at 8 a.m. at the Parker Recreation Center. Part of the Parks and Recreation Run Series, this fun event is not timed. Registered participants will receive commemorative fleece mittens, a race bib and hot cocoa, cider or coffee.
Registration capacity for this year’s event will be limited. Online registration closes at noon on Nov. 24 and can be completed on the Turkey Day 5K FUN Run/Walk website. If space allows, event-day registration will be available for an additional fee.
Hometown Holiday Experience Kick-Off Weekend Nov. 26 to 28:
The magic returns to Downtown Parker with a host of events Thanksgiving weekend.
Festivities begin with the Mayor’s Holiday Lighting on Friday, Nov. 26. Following the grand lighting of O'Brien Park, enjoy walk-around entertainment, ice sculpture displays and a live ice carving demonstration, food vendors and performances from the Parker Chorale, Colorado School of Dance and Parker area high school choirs.
Return downtown Nov. 27 and 28 for the Hometown Holidays Experience Kick-Off Weekend, featuring seasonal characters, sponsor booths and food vendors in O’Brien Park, holiday music playing along Mainstreet, ice sculptures and holiday decorations.
The North Pole Pass will create a day of memories for kids ages 3 to 10 on Nov. 27 or 28, too. A pre-purchased pass will include storytime with Santa and Mrs. Claus, reindeer games with Santa's elves, milk and cookies, Parker Ice Trail at Discovery Park skating pass, and visit to a petting zoo. Passes may be purchased here.

Parker Ice Trail opens for season:
The Parker Ice Trail at Discovery Park opens Friday, Nov. 26.
The Ice Trail meanders through Discovery Park, reminiscent of a frozen river or canal. Skaters or spectators can stay warm next to fire pits adjacent to the ice or enjoy hot chocolate and other concessions while watching skaters pass by.

Shop Parker Gift Week Nov. 15 to 19:
What’s better than finding the perfect gift … finding it in your hometown! Join us Nov. 15 to 19 as we highlight the goods, products and services offered by Parker’s unique business community. On each day of Gift Week, we’ll feature a different category on the Town of Parker Facebook page and invite Parker businesses to share related gift ideas and seasonal specials.
• Nov. 15: Treats, Eats & Drinks (restaurants, bakeries, breweries, etc.)
• Nov. 16: Beauty & Fashion
• Nov. 17: For the Home (home décor, home goods, home maintenance)
• Nov. 18: Recreation & Health
• Nov. 19: Other Goods & Services (for businesses that haven’t fit within one of the previous themes)
For Businesses: We invite all Parker businesses to participate in Gift Week! To join, identify the daily theme that most relates to your business. When the day arrives, comment on the Gift Week post (posted daily at 9 a.m.) and advertise a gift idea including gift cards, a special deal or service you provide, along with where residents can learn more about your business (website, social channels, phone). We kindly ask that each business only participate in one day (the one that best relates to your business) and to keep all your information to one post.
Monthly public meetings:
Parker Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 1 and 15. The Council will hold study sessions at 5 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 8 and 22.
Parker Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4.
Parker Special Licensing Authority will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18.
