Spring into a new month and a new season with our list of five things to know for April.
Arbor Day
Celebration April 28:
Did you know Parker has earned honors from the Tree City USA program every year since 1994? Join in the observance of that recognition and Arbor Day at Parker Parks and Recreation’s Arbor Day Celebration from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28 at Discovery Park.
At this free event — held, rain, snow or shine — Parker Parks and Recreation will be celebrating by giving out free seedling trees. Stop by the arborist table and meet the Town’s Parks and Forestry Team, which can answer questions about tree planning, pruning and tree selection. Kids will enjoy a fun activity courtesy of Douglas County Libraries and all participants can also enjoy a free pancake breakfast!
Parker PD installs
permanent medication collection box:
In an effort to provide a safe, convenient and
responsible means of disposing prescription drugs, the Parker Police
Department has installed a medication collection box in the front lobby of its
building at 18600 E. Lincoln Meadows Pkwy.
The medication collection box is available to the public during normal business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Parker PD provides more related resources, as well as more information about the program and a list of items which can and cannot be accepted at the collection box, on its Medication Collection Box page.

National Volunteer
Month:
Parker will join municipalities and organizations across
the country in observing National Volunteer Month this April.
Throughout the month, the Town will recognize volunteers and share details on how residents may participate with Town-sponsored volunteer programs on its social media channels.
The Town appreciates its hundreds of volunteers who serve on boards and commissions, work at events and provide support to our departments, and thanks them for their service to our community.
