Make your plans for the month ahead with our list of five things to know for April.
Arbor Day Celebration April 30:
Join Parker Parks and Recreation for the Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, April 30 at Discovery Park.
We will be celebrating by giving out free seedling trees and perennial flowers. Stop by the arborist table and meet the Town’s Parks and Forestry Team, who can answer questions about tree planting, pruning and tree selection. Additional vendors will be on-hand to offer environmental information, kids will enjoy a fun activity courtesy of Douglas County Libraries, and Flippin’ Flapjacks will be serving up pancakes!
Each household must register for a timeslot to guarantee a tree/plant and pancakes on the event website.
Provide Feedback on Public Art Master Plan:
The Town, Parker Arts and P3 - Partnering for Parker's Progress have begun work on a new Public Art Master Plan that will help guide public art programming now and in the years to come, and we need your help!
Take the Public Art Master Plan Survey at www.letstalkparker.org/publicartmasterplan and guide Parker's future public art programming.
Give Back During Volunteer Month:
April is National Volunteer Month and the Town offers many volunteer opportunities through the year.
Opportunities with the Town, Parker Arts, and Parker Parks and Recreation are listed on the new Volunteer Parker portal. This online local resource offers one-stop shopping for volunteers who want to share their time and skills in our community.
The Town will also host a Volunteer Open House 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at the Parker Fieldhouse with representatives from different departments on hand to discuss volunteer opportunities.
Summer Activity Registration Begins:
Play, learn, explore and more! Summer camp and activity registration is underway or opens in April.
