Flowers are blooming, trees and lawns are getting greener and the warm-weather outdoor recreation season is quickly approaching. See what’s in store in the Town of Parker this month — including the return of the H2O’Brien Pool and Parker Farmer’s Market — by reading our list of five things to know for May.
H2O’Brien Pool opens for season:
Get ready to swim, splash and slide for another summer as H2O’Brien Pool opens Saturday, May 26. Daily hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with extended hours 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays.
H2O'Brien Outdoor Pool features two 182' water slides, a waterworks play structure, a spray garden, sprays and geysers, a circulation and lap pool, a concession area and a shade pavilion.

Parker Farmer’s Market returns:
Mainstreet will be the place to be Sunday mornings beginning May 13 as the Parker Farmer’s Market kicks off its season. The market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays through October. Check out our Downtown Parking Map to find the best places to park while you visit downtown for the market and all year through.
Household Chemical Roundup May 19:
Tri-County Health Department will host a household chemical roundup in Parker from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19. The collection will take place at the Parker Joint Services Center, 17801 E. Plaza Drive, and is open to all Douglas County residents. Participants must bring a proof of residency.
Accepted items include house and garden chemicals, automotive fluids/fuels, fluorescent light bulbs and CFLs, propane tanks up to 20 pounds, vehicle and household batteries, items containing mercury, car and pickup truck tires that are off rim, oil-based paint and paint products, and cleaning products and supplies. Last year, 4,493 households from Adams County and Douglas County participated in the roundups, disposing and recycling over 515,118 pounds of household hazardous waste.
Choose Parker campaign introduced:
To promote the impact that shopping local has on Town services and programs, as well as highlight Parker’s distinct business community, the Town will be partnering with Mayor Waid on his Choose Parker campaign, beginning in May. With both educational and promotional components, the Town will Choose Parker by providing insight to the Town’s budget and budgeting process, showing residents how local sales tax revenue is put to use throughout the Town, and recognizing businesses and entrepreneurs who create and operate within Parker. Monthly public meetings:
Parker Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Mondays, May 7 and 21 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 20120 E. Mainstreet. The Council will hold study sessions at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 14 and Tuesday, May 29 in the Pikes Peak Community Room at Town Hall.
The Parker Planning Commission will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 24 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.
The Parker Special Licensing Authority will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.
