Sheryl Lavell almost 10 years full-time, but worked for the Town part-time prior

Department overview:
The Human Resources Department manages a variety of services including benefits and wellness, performance management, hiring and recruitment, training and development and employee relations. Department divisions:
While our department does not have divisions, we focus on the following services.

Risk Management: Responsible for all Town risk management and loss prevention issues, including evaluating and identifying risks, implementing solutions, and monitoring results; managing claims; administering workers' compensation and early return to work programs; managing ADA issues; conducting safety training; monitoring the random drug testing program and motor vehicle records checks; managing accident reporting and investigations; participating in Department Safety Committees; and managing and updating the Town's Loss Control Program.

Recruitment: Assisting department managers with identifying quality candidates for open positions within the Town.

Benefits & Wellness: Oversee the management of the Town’s comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees and coordinates wellness programs and initiatives for employees.

Performance Management: Oversees the performance evaluation process.

Training and Development: Develops, coordinates and delivers a variety of personal and professional training topics and opportunities for the organization. Also teams with departments for specific strategic training and development initiatives including prevention, team building and customer service.

Employee Relations: Assists in the day to day operations of employee relations including workplace investigations.

How does this department impact daily life for Parker residents?
We strive to provide full recruitment services aiming to employ high-level individuals to provide service throughout departments, which in turn, provides a high level of service for the community. Risk Management also works to keep our insurance costs low and keep worker’s compensation claims to a minimum, which shows we have a high level of fiscal responsibility to the community.
