[ARCHIVED] Public Workshops for the Transportation Master Plan

If you drive, walk, ride your bike or use the bus in the Town, we are looking for you to share your knowledge, ideas and concerns regarding the future of transportation in Parker.

You are invited to participate in one of the following workshops:
•Saturday, May 4th at the Parker Library, 10851 S. Crossroads Dr., in the Adam and Dorothy Miller Large Meeting Room, from 8-11a.m.
•Sunday, May 12th at the Parker Farmers Market at Mainstreet & Victorian from 8 a.m. – 12 noon

Participants will work with large aerial ground maps of both the entire Town and the Downtown area to:
• Help us identify problem areas where it is challenging to drive, walk, bike or use transit
• Show us the destinations you most frequently visit in Town and how you get there
• Provide suggestions for potential future improvements such as new street and trail connections for redesigns for existing facilities

The Town is developing its first Transportation Master Plan (TMP) and kicked-off the event at a joint meeting with Town Council and Planning Commission on April 8th. Assisting Town staff with this project is transportation planning consultant Fehr & Peers. The project is a coordinated effort between Town departments, including Community Development/Planning, Public Works, Economic Development and Parks and Recreation – all working together to ensure that Parker maintains a high quality transportation system which is essential to Parker’s quality of life and economic health.

A Transportation Master Plan is an adopted plan that provides policy guidance for Town officials and staff on future transportation decisions, development and capital projects. The Plan will support Town Council in achieving their goals and objectives for Parker to be a destination community where people come to live, work, shop and play by ensuring that we have a comprehensive and integrated transportation system that continues to serves the multi-modal needs of our residents, businesses and visitors.

For more information on the Transportation Master Plan and other opportunities for public involvement, please visit the project website at www.parkertransportationplan.org or contact Mary Munekata at mmunekata@parkeronline.org or 303.841.2332.
