Each construction season, the Town of Parker works with multiple contractors to perform roadway repairs, maintenance and reconstruction projects throughout the Town. While the work can cause inconvenience, it is undertaken to extend the useful life of Town roadways. The following projects are curently underway:
Annual Reconstruct Program – The contractor will repair multiple sections of curb, gutter and sidewalk within a given area followed by a mill and overlay or full reconstruction of the roadway section. The reconstruction of the northbound lanes of Jordan Road between Mainstreet and Lincoln Avenue, as well as work in the Country Meadows subdivision, are included with this contract.
Annual Resurfacing Program – The contractor will repair multiple sections of curb, gutter and sidewalk followed by a mill and overlay of the roadway. The contract this year will include work along Crown Crest Boulevard and Cottonwood Drive.
Annual Chip/Slurry Seal Program – The contractor will repair multiple sections of curb, gutter and sidewalk followed by chip sealing (thin layer of emulsified asphalt and rock) the roadway. The slurry seal (thin layer of emulsified asphalt and sand) of the Fieldhouse parking lot is also included in this contract. This work is preventive maintenance to minimize potential larger problems in the future.
Annual Concrete Replacement Program – The contractor will remove and replace damaged concrete sidewalks, trails and pathways within neighborhoods, parks and along Town-maintained trails.
Construction associated with these programs is scheduled to be completed by October 2013.
