The Town of Parker is looking for new members of the Parker Cultural and Scientific Commission. The Cultural and Scientific Commission is a volunteer advisory group that works with the Town’s Cultural Department to foster, implement and participate in providing opportunities for the cultural and scientific experiences for the community of Parker. Commission members are appointed by Town Council and serve in an advisory capacity to recommend cultural policies and provide input to the Town’s Cultural Plan. The Commission serves as the Town’s primary cultural and scientific advisory body in compliance with the requirements of the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District of Metro Denver. Interest or experience in the arts and sciences, and a desire to serve the Parker community are required. Commission members must abide by a conflict of interest policy which prohibits members from pursuing employment or paid contracting as a staff member, instructor, performer or other service provider with the PACE Center or other Cultural Department programs.
The Commission meets bi-monthly on the third Tuesday, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Commission members do not need to reside in the Town of Parker.
