Please plan to attend one of RTD’s public meetings scheduled in October to provide input on the proposed elimination of the Parker Call-n-Ride. RTD has scheduled several public meetings designed to inform the public of all proposed service changes and to obtain citizen input that will be summarized and reported to the RTD Board of Directors. The RTD Board will then vote on final service recommendations in October 2014 with any approved changes to be effective Jan. 4, 2015.
The Parker Call-n-Ride is a personalized curb-to-curb bus service that travels within a limited RTD service area inside Parker. The service started in Parker in 2007. However, as a part of RTD’s annual service review, both Parker and Highlands Ranch Call-n-Ride services were identified for elimination “due to low ridership.” Ridership numbers are measured in hourly boardings and must meet a performance threshold in order to maintain the service. These recommended service cuts will negatively impact those Douglas County residents who are dependent upon the Call-n-Ride service.
Attendance at any of RTD’s public meetings is not required for you to comment. You may fax your comments directly to RTD at 303.299.2227 or email service.changes@rtd-denver.com no later than Oct. 16.
