Newly elected Town Councilmember Renee Williams officially began her first term in office following a swearing-in ceremony held during the Dec. 15 Parker Town Council meeting. Also participating in the ceremony were Amy Holland and Josh Martin, who were were elected to serve second terms during the November general election.
Williams chose to run for office because as a local business owner, she believes in giving back to her community. During her term on Council, she would like to help ensure that the necessary infrastructure is in place to support the additional roof tops and businesses that desire to call Parker home. Transportation and housing for populations with special needs are also high priorities for her.
Williams lives in the Challenger Park Estates subdivision with her two dogs and has been a Parker business owner for nine years. She enjoys living, working and playing in the fabulous Parker community. As the owner of one of the largest employers in Parker, Williams is proud to say that her company, To The Rescue, positively impacts the daytime economy in Parker.
Williams holds undergraduate degrees in Fashion Merchandising and Business, as well as graduate degrees in Human Resources Management (HRM) and Business (MBA). In addition, she is a graduate of Parker’s Civic Academy, Police Academy and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Community service is important to her and she is involved in a variety of local organizations, including the Parker Area Chamber of Commerce, Parker Area Business Coalition, Parker Farmer’s Market, Seniors Council of Douglas County, and the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) Area Agency on Aging, to name a few.
In her free time, Williams enjoys outdoor activities, including camping, skiing, motorcycling, watching sports and bowling. She also enjoys cultural activities and the arts.
Williams filled the Town Council position vacated by Scott Jackson, who recently completed a nine-and-a-half run as Councilmember.
