Parker Parks and Recreation will serve as host for two major fundraiser events this summer when the MuckFest MS and the Tour de Cure Colorado roll into Town. Both events, which raise funds and awareness for major charity organizations, are open to public entries.
The MuckFest MS, a 5K race featuring numerous obstacles and a whole lot of mud, will be staged at Salisbury Park North on Saturday, July 16 beginning at 9 a.m. Created to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the event has raised more than $22 million toward combating the disease in its history.
The race features teams running in several large waves, so you can experience all the muddy shenanigans, epic spills and thrills together. Following the race, celebrate your accomplishments with a free beer (or soda) in the MuckFestival. Spectators can enjoy all the mud and spills with free admission, and there is even a free Lil’ Muckers play area for little ones to enjoy.
Registration is now open and currently only $60 through March 16 (or until quantities run out); the entry fee will increase periodically until race day. All participants receive a race bib, MuckFest MS T-Shirt, a free beverage, MuckFestival & Lil’ Muckers admission, free event photos and free parking. Visit www.MuckFest.com for more information and to register.
The Tour de Cure, also being held at Salisbury Park, rolls into Parker on Saturday, Sept. 24. A partnership between the Southern Colorado Tour de Cure, Tour de Cure Colorado and Denver Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes, this event is a walking/running and cycling event packed with competitors joining forces to help support the American Diabetes Association.
The Tour de Cure features routes designed for everyone from walkers, runners, cyclists, occasional riders and even families. Cycling route distances include 20K, 50K, 100K and 100 miles.
Registration for the Tour de Cure is available for $15 with a fundraising minimum of $200. Visit
