The Town is updating our sign code in response to the recent Reed vs. Gilbert Supreme Court decision. Proposed changes to the code focus on process and submittal requirement with minimal changes to the requirement as they relate to size, height and number of signs.
You are invited to attend one of two upcoming sign code informational meetings. Both meeting will have the same content:
Public Meeting 1
Date and Time – June 20, 2016 1:00 PM
Location – PACE Center at 20000 Pike Peak Avenue in the Gallery
Public Informational Meeting 2
Date and Time – Planning Commission - June 23, 2016 6:00 PM
Location – Town Hall at 20120 E Mainstreet in the Council Chambers
The proposed amendments have a limited scope which is primarily to respond to the court ruling and other targeted changes. Because of the limited scope, this outreach is to provide information within the limits of the proposed change. It is our goal to ensure that the business community has the opportunity to stay informed about changes to the sign code.
The proposed sign code changes will be considered for adoption at public meetings before the Planning Commission and Town Council this summer.
