[ARCHIVED] The Parker Authority for Reinvestment Seeks Community Feedback

The Parker Authority for Reinvestment (PAR) is collaborating with a Master Developer firm to revitalize downtown Parker. This potential partner has created an integrated plan for development that reflects the priorities of our community, and PAR is looking for community feedback to ensure they are the right fit for Parker. A presentation from the developer will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 at the PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Avenue. Those who can’t make it to the meeting can watch the presentation live on the Town of Parker’s Facebook page.

PAR identified the developer through a Master Developer RFQ process. The goals of the Master Developer RFQ not only seek a vibrant development plan for residents to enjoy, it also:

  • Ensures a partnership with a qualified and experienced firm
  • Finds a firm that is capable of fulfilling Parker’s unique needs
  • Provides multiple opportunities for public participation
  • Safeguards a transparent development process

Engaging the public throughout the process is crucial for the partnership’s success. During the event, the developer will provide information about their qualifications, future public participation and a cohesive plan for four (4) parcels of land around the downtown area followed by a Q & A with the public.

“This RFQ is about having a true partner who can help us revitalize downtown in a way that fits our community’s vision,” said Deputy Community Development Director Jason Rogers. “It’s not focused on any specific project. It’s about working with the right firm – one that’s invested in Parker’s long-term success.”

A final decision will be announced on May 16.

About the Master Developer RFQ

PAR’s Master Developer Request for Qualifications is an effort to solicit a master developer to engage in a private-public partnership to enhance downtown Parker. The RFQ pursues a qualified and experienced partner that will engage residents of Parker in order to create a successful, integrated plan for four development areas in downtown that will help:

  • Expand and strengthen Downtown Parker
  • Contribute a sense of place and Downtown Parker as a destination
  • Promote high quality redevelopment
