On Monday, Sept. 18, 2017, the Parker Town Council unanimously appointed Michelle Kivela to the position of Town Administrator. “We are thrilled to have someone of Michelle’s outstanding caliber leading our organization,” said Mayor Mike Waid. “She brings a wealth of knowledge to her position as she has overseen all functional areas of municipal government during the course of her career,” he added.
Kivela, who has served as Parker’s Deputy Town Administrator (DTA) since June 2012, has nearly 23 years of municipal experience in a wide variety of capacities. Prior to being hired as Parker’s DTA, Kivela served as the Deputy City Manager for the City of Lone Tree for seven years and held previous positions with the City of Greenwood Village, the City of Sugar Land, Texas and the Town of Addison, Texas.
“I’ve lived in Parker for 16 years and am proud to serve this community in an expanded capacity,” said Kivela. “I am excited to continue moving the community forward, while keeping intact the Town’s high quality of life and the hometown feel that is so important to all of us,” she added. “I’m looking forward to working with our incredibly talented and committed Town employees to ensure that Parker’s Vision and Strategic Goals are achieved.”
