[ARCHIVED] Meet Our Staff - Ryne Dittmer

Ryne Dittmer

The advent of social media has resulted in a great new tool that local government entities use to help inform, interact with and gain feedback from citizens. The people who call Parker home are especially active on social media, which means we are fortunate to be able to reach more of our residents than ever before.

Digital Marketing Coordinator Ryne Dittmer manages the Town’s social media accounts and provides strategy to keep our residents engaged and informed. Fairly new to the Town of Parker staff, Ryne has done an outstanding job of helping us connect with our residents.

Please take a few minutes to learn more about Ryne!

How long have you worked for the Town of Parker? Where did you work before Parker?
“I have worked for the Town of Parker for just over one month. I am a new Parker and Colorado resident as of August. Before coming to Parker, I spent the past five years working as a reporter for a group of suburban community newspapers in Kansas City, Mo.”

Tell us about your job and how it impacts the Parker community.
“As the Digital Marketing Coordinator, I am primarily responsible for maintaining the Town’s social media accounts as a member of the Communications Department. This includes creating content, scheduling posts and responding to comments. I am also working on several new social media initiatives to provide residents with more ways to stay informed of Town news, events and functions, in addition to providing more insights into day-to-day operations of Town staff.  Be sure to give the Town a follow on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @TownofParkerCO to see what’s in store!”

What do you most enjoy about working for the Town of Parker?
“I enjoy the positive and energetic work environment. It is evident Town employees take pride in their work and are enthusiastic about making the Parker community a better place.”

What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?
“The best response I could probably give is people don’t know how to pronounce my first name. Ryne is pronounced like the Rhine River. My name was inspired by Cubs baseball player Ryne Sandberg.”

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
“I enjoy watching baseball and being outdoors. I am excited to have a long list of new locations to hike and explore here in Colorado.”

What’s one thing that you feel sets Parker apart from other communities?
“Parker’s parks and recreation offerings outpace any community I have lived in before. It is an impressive list of top-notch facilities and locations.”

What is the most interesting place you’ve ever visited?
“The Hoover Dam. I was fascinated at what a marvel of engineering it was and remains to be do this day.”

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
“Music. It makes every setting better.”

If you could do another job for the Town of Parker for just one day, what would it be?
“I think it would be fun to be a program coordinator for the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department.”

What’s one thing about working for the Town of Parker that you didn’t expect?
“I’m still learning so much every day, but that has made the job more enjoyable.”

What accomplishment are you most proud of since you started working for the Town of Parker?
“I am excited to implement new social media features such as monthly Facebook Live digital forums with Town departments, which I think will give residents a unique way to interact with the Town and its staff.”

What is the strangest thing that you have experienced while working for the Town of Parker?
“There hasn’t been anything too strange that has happened — so far!”

Thank you, Ryne, for all you do for the Town of Parker!
