[ARCHIVED] My Mainstreet Project Update

My Mainstreet

In March and April, P3 (Partnering for Parker's Progress) has been working on the first phase of the My Mainstreet project—Market Analysis. The My Mainstreet team has held several engagement events with Town Council, the P3 Advisory Committee and community members. During that time, we’ve also heard from over 600 community members through our Site Uses and Opportunities Survey.

We have also completed an economic market analysis. This analysis was conducted to determine what downtown Parker uses our community's economy could support. The analysis examined businesses currently operating in the Town, as well as what additional businesses could thrive in the evolving economy.

The survey results, market analysis findings and areas where we have consensus can be found  online at www.LetsTalkParker.org/My-Mainstreet.

Your input is still needed as we move on to the next phase of the My Mainstreet project—Refine Community Vision and Values for Downtown. Our new visual preference survey is now live on Let's Talk Parker!

MY MAINSTREET PROJECT TIMELINE

  1. Market Analysis – March and April
We started this project by conducting a market analysis. This analysis will outline what kind of development is possible in downtown Parker as determined by the economy.

  2. Refine Community Vision and  Values for Downtown – April to June
During this step, we will be working to create a common consensus around what Parker wants to see and experience in downtown. Expect several different engagement opportunities for you to share your vision for downtown Parker.

  3. Identify Uses andAmenities – May to July
Engage with us and tell us what you would like to see in downtown Parker! Once the types of development we want to see in our downtown area are determined, it's time to further define the type of development that will be allowed in this space and what public amenities should be a part of the project. Development could include retail, residential or mixed use.

  4. Community Evaluation of Options – July to September
We will engage with Parker residents and businesses to learn what the community would like to see developed.

  5. Implementation Measures - August to October
The Parker Town Council will review the market analysis, the values that have been established for downtown Parker and the uses and amenities the public would like to see developed. From here, we will review what processes and potential incentives need to be in place to make the redevelopment happen.

  6. Identify Development Partners  with Intention to Redevelop – September to October
Once we know what the economy will support and what residents want to see developed on these lots, P3 will look to partner with the private sector to bring the My Mainstreet vision to life.
