[ARCHIVED] Soft-Surface Trail Section Coming to Cherry Creek Trail

Cherry Creek Trail - Soft Surface

The completion of the Town of Parker's Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan in 2018 highlighted the importance of our trail system to residents. In addition to the health and social benefits, residents also enjoy the enhanced recreational opportunities and connectivity that these trails provide.

With over 38 miles of trails, this is one of the Town’s most popular recreational amenities. Based on the popularity of our system, the Town is constructing a parallel soft-surface (crusher fines) trail “test section” directly adjacent to the existing Cherry Creek Trail, near the Country Meadows community later this year.

This 10-foot wide, soft-surface gravel trail segment, approximately 1,500 feet in length, will allow increased trail capacity while still maintaining normal safety requirements. Soft-surface trails are ideal for runners, joggers, pedestrians and even mountain bike users. Once the test section is completed, we encourage residents to try it out and give us your feedback at www.LetsTalkParker.org.

Future expansion of the soft-surface trail will be based upon feedback from the test section, along with environmental and budgetary factors.
