[ARCHIVED] Join Us for an Open House on Proposed New Downtown Parking Requirements

Downtown Parking

The Town’s Community Development Department, with the help of consultant Kimley-Horn, is in the process of revising current parking requirements for Parker’s downtown area (encompassing the Greater Downtown District). This is a result of implementation of near-term strategies of the 2017 Downtown Parking Study and Plan and the Mainstreet Master Plan. The ultimate goal was to preserve the character of downtown, while balancing parking needs with new development.

To develop the revised parking requirements, Kimley-Horn conducted an analysis of current parking standards for downtown, completed best practices research, held stakeholder meetings and developed recommendations for new parking requirements.

Currently there is not a parking requirement for land development projects within the Greater Downtown District. The revised parking standards will require new development to provide additional parking spaces. The revised downtown parking requirements will be presented in further detail at a Sept. 11 community Open House from 5-7 p.m.

Attend Our Open House!
A community Open House meeting is planned for Sept. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the PACE Center's Bellco Credit Union Art Gallery. The Open House will feature an overview of the revised parking requirements for downtown, as well as an update on the My Mainstreet Project. All interested community members are welcome to attend!
