For the past five months, you’ve likely been seeing a lot about the My Mainstreet project. My Mainstreet has been a community-wide effort to gain consensus on what the future of downtown Parker should look like. We’re nearing the end of the project and wanted to be sure that you were in the know about all the steps we’ve taken and how they will all come together. We started with four underutilized, publicly-owned sites in downtown and then examined the zoning regulations to identify the allowed uses on the sites. You gave us feedback on the uses you would like to see on each one, and we then conducted a market analysis to see what kinds of businesses could be economically viable in Parker. From here, we were able to narrow down our options for what could be built in downtown Parker.Next, we asked you about your preferences for architectural styles that would fit in downtown, researched what factors make a good downtown and received feedback from developers about these sites. After all of this work, we expect to unveil conceptual site renderings this month. The renderings will give an idea of what each site could look like in the context of downtown. This will be the final step before we create our vision plan for the project. We will want to hear your feedback on the renderings, so be sure to visit www.LetsTalkParker.org/My-Mainstreet to share your feedback.
