[ARCHIVED] Pawnee-Daniels Park Transmission Project Construction to Begin

Xcel Energy Logo

Beginning in January/February, the Public Service Company of Colorado (PSCo/Xcel Energy) will begin construction on the Pawnee-Daniels Park Transmission Project (power transmission lines) in its existing utility right-of-way. While this is not a Town of Parker project, a portion of the overall 125-mile expansion does run through the Town. The project is expected to be completed and in service by October.

As part of the project approval, the Town of Parker was able to negotiate several million dollars in PSCo-provided funding for a variety of projects to help mitigate the impact of the second transmission line and provide a public benefit to Town residents. These projects will include park and trail improvements within specific neighborhoods along the PSCo right-of-way, a tree/landscaping buffer program for homes within a certain distance of the new lines and a right-of-way vegetation enhancement program.

These improvements will begin in 2019 and specifics will be shared with impacted neighborhoods. Homes that qualify for the landscaping buffer credit will be contacted directly by the Town with program details.
