The weather is warming up, and that means spring and summer road construction will be heating up soon. Two projects that will impact Parker residents and area commuters have either already begun or will begin soon: the Townwide Resurfacing Program and the Townwide Chip Seal – Slurry Program.
Townwide Resurfacing Program
The Town of Parker has contracted with Brannan Sand and Gravel Company to perform roadway resurfacing work on three major arterial roadways: Jordan Road (Parkerhouse Road to the northern Town boundary), Pine Drive (Talon Trail to Mainstreet) and East Mainstreet (Pine Drive to Riva Ridge Drive). Construction began in April and is scheduled to conclude in July. During this time period, we expect lane closures and minor delays Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Townwide Chip Seal – Slurry Program
The Town has contracted with Vance Brothers, Inc. to perform roadway treatments in various locations in Parker, including residential neighborhoods.
When a neighborhood has been selected for a preservation treatment, approximately half of the streets in that neighborhood will need to be closed completely for a period up to eight hours, depending on weather conditions. Other adjacent streets will remain open to allow nearby access for parking and getting to your home on foot, if needed, during the time of the closure. Once these streets have dried and reopened to traffic, the other half of the neighborhood will be treated in an identical fashion.
Additional details, including specific project dates, will be distributed to your home when they become available by the contractor if your neighborhood has been scheduled for service. Please watch your driveway for project flyers to appear.
