[ARCHIVED] Celebrate Public Works Week with Touch-a-Truck

Snow Plow

Building roadways, clearing snow, working to prevent flooding… a lot goes into managing a community’s infrastructure. Here in Parker, we’re fortunate to have an outstanding staff that keeps everything running smoothly.

Join your Town and municipalities across the country in recognizing National Public Works Week May 19 through 25. This annual celebration, sponsored by the American Public Works Association, works to highlight the positive impact that public works operations and professionals have on our communities.

We’ll kick off the week by giving you an up-close and personal look at the Town of Parker’s Engineering and Public Works Department with our new Touch-a-Truck equipment showcase that will be on display at the May 19 Parker Farmer’s Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Get a glimpse of a variety of equipment, including a street sweeper, snowplow truck, loader and more, including a traffic signal head up close. Even take a selfie with a Town truck at our photo station. This is a great event for kids, so make sure to bring them along!

In addition to the Touch-a-Truck showcase, throughout the week we will feature Parker Public Works facts and statistics on our social media pages. Make sure to follow us (@TownofParkerCO) on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to learn more about the outstanding things these folks do to benefit Parker and our residents.
