On Monday, July 20, the Parker Town Council voted to opt out of the Tri-County Health Department’s mandatory face covering order. This decision was made with the goal of reducing the confusion for Parker residents of having two different orders in place with conflicting requirements, as well a desire for a conformity with other jurisdictions across Colorado regarding face covering requirements.
Although Parker opted out of the Tri-County order, Governor Polis’ Executive Order mandating face coverings supersedes Tri-County Health’s order. As such, the Town of Parker must abide by the State order, which requires all individuals over 10 years old to wear face coverings in indoor public spaces, including stores, restaurants, gyms, work places, places of worship, etc. The order, which went into effect at midnight on July 16, will be in effect for a minimum of 30 days. The Governor’s full order is available online at https://covid19.colorado.gov/mask-guidance.
We appreciate your patience and compliance.
