[ARCHIVED] Remember to Follow State's Face-Covering Order

Face Mask

Although the Parker Town Council voted to opt out of the Tri-County Health Department’s mandatory face covering order in July, Governor Jared Polis’ Executive Order requiring face coverings in public indoor spaces is still in effect.

The decision to opt-out of the Tri-County order was made with the goal of reducing the confusion of having two different orders in place with conflicting requirements, as well a desire for conformity regarding face covering requirements with other jurisdictions across Colorado. In addition, Douglas County’s health data in regards to COVID-19 is favorable and many residents are already voluntarily wearing masks, with a current compliance of approximately 80%.

Although Parker opted out of the Tri-County order, the State order mandating face coverings supersedes Tri-County Health’s order and is still in effect for Parker. As such, the Town of Parker must abide by the State order, which requires all individuals over 10 years old to wear face coverings in indoor public spaces, including stores, restaurants, gyms, work places, places of worship, etc. The order, which went into effect at midnight on July 16, will be in effect for a minimum of 30 days.

We appreciate your patience and compliance.
