With large-scale gatherings temporarily suspended due to COVID-19, the Town of Parker isn’t able to bring the community our traditional season of events, including the Mayor’s Holiday Lighting and the Parker Christmas Carriage Parade. However, our staff has been creatively working to find other ways for our community stay engaged and show their hometown spirit! We are excited to announce a new and creative season of 2020 activities.
Visit www.ParkerOnline.org/Events for more details about these new events!
Food Trucks and Fireworks Presented by Xfinity
- Canceled Due to Statewide Fire Ban
Unfortunately, due to a statewide fire ban, we are unable to provide our community with the originally scheduled Food Trucks and Fireworks drive-in event on Sunday, Sept. 13. As the main draw of this event was a fireworks show with limited additional activities (food trucks and limited in car entertainment), an event without fireworks isn’t possible.
Bike Parker Day
- Tuesday, Sept. 22; 6:30 to 8:30 a.m.
Due to COVID-19, DRCOG and the Way to Go team made the hard decision to cancel 2020 Bike to Work Day festivities, but that doesn’t mean the fun is canceled! The Town of Parker is partnering up with DRCOG and Way to Go and challenging you to a Bike to Wherever... week! Whether you’re headed to the workplace, a workout or the store, pledge to ride your bike during the week of Sept. 21. Then, on Sept. 22, make sure to ride by the Town of Parker’s “Ride-by Station” on the Cherry Creek Trail just south of E-470. Elevation Cycles bike technicians will also be onsite should cyclists need assistance.
The first 300 cyclists will receive a goodie bag provided by the Town of Parker and our very generous sponsors, Rocky Vista University, Vitalant and CareNow! These goodie bags will be filled with grab-and-go nutrition, a customized Parker face gaiter and other goodies.
Parker Porch Parade Series Presented by Xfinity
- Oct. 22 to 31; Dec. 3 to 20
The community is invited to celebrate Halloween and the holidays by decorating your front porches, yards, patios or balconies! Unleash your creativity, bring a smile to your friends and neighbors and WIN PRIZES! The Town of Parker will produce a virtual map with the locations of all our registered porches, so you can plan a walk or drive around your neighborhood and the community to see and share in the celebration. Visit our events webpage to register your porch!
