Parker residents and visitors will soon notice a new traffic signal at the intersection of Chambers Road and Grasslands Drive.
Due to development in the adjacent area, the Town’s Engineering and Public Works Department engaged a consultant to complete a traffic warrant analysis of this intersection during the latter part of 2018. The analysis was based upon the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Road managers nationwide use the standards included in the MUTCD to help determine the levels traffic volumes need to reach before signals are installed.
The results of this study showed that the intersection had met these minimum standards. Parker Town Council approved the award for this signalized intersection with contractor TAT Construction on Jan. 6. Construction is underway, and the signal is planned to be operational later this summer.
