The Town of Parker’s elected officials and staff were saddened to learn of the recent passing of former longtime Parker Mayor and Town Councilmember Gary Lasater. Lasater served as Parker’s Mayor from 1996 to 2004 and as a Councilmember from 2004 to 2012.
During Lasater’s tenure, a number of significant parks, open space, road and facility projects were accomplished and helped to make Parker the wonderful place it is today. He was very active in preserving our community's history, including the establishment of Parker’s Preservation Park and retention of other important historical resources.
Lasater also represented the Town on multiple committees and task forces around the Denver metro area and advocated for the needs of our residents. His contributions to the Town of Parker will always be remembered and appreciated.
Lasater is survived by his wife, Jan, and their sons, AyJay and Coby, as well as two daughters from a previous marriage, Dawn and Dia.
