Thanks to the relatively mild weather we've experienced this winter, a few major Town of Parker capital improvement projects have continued to progress.
COTTONWOOD DRIVE WIDENING
The Cottonwood Drive Widening project opened to four lanes of traffic between Jordan Road and Cottonwood Way prior to the end of 2021. Additional project work is continuing and will be completed in the spring.
MOTSENBOCKER/HESS INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS
This project, which includes the expansion of the intersection of Hess Road/Motsenbocker Road and the widening of Motsenbocker Road to the south of the intersection, is also underway. Work is expected to be completed in early summer.
KIEFFER'S CROSSING PEDESTRIAN UNDERPASS REPAIRS
The Kieffer’s Crossing pedestrian underpass of Parker Road (map pictured below), located near the O’Brien Park softball field, is currently undergoing wall repairs after being damaged during a vehicle collision. The underpass will likely remain closed during construction until mid-March. In the interim, pedestrians are encouraged to utilize the surface-level crossing located at the intersection of Parker Road and Mainstreet.

DOWNTOWN SAFETY AND CIRCULATION IMPROVEMENTS
The Downtown Circulation Improvements Project, which will add pedestrian safety and traffic circulation improvements on Victorian Drive and Mainstreet and a new traffic signal at the Mainstreet/Victorian Drive (west) intersection, is also continuing to make progress. The traveling public should expect some temporary daytime road closures and detours with this project over the coming months.
