Hail storms that hit Parker in June 2009 resulted in many residents needing roofs replaced. Permits are required for roof replacements and repairs, along with inspections. When replacing a roof, the Town has two required inspections; a mid-roof and a final inspection.
Recently the Town has received phone calls from homeowners about individuals arriving at their homes and stating they work for the Town of Parker as ‘Code Enforcement Inspectors.’ They say that they are there for quality control (checks and balances) and to ensure that the Town Building Department has completed the inspections in a timely and professional manner. They will ask to get on your roof to verify the installation and make sure it meets minimum code requirements. The Town does not do these types of quality control inspections.
When a Town inspector arrives at your home, he will do his best to notify the homeowner when he arrives on-site. A Town of Parker picture identification is always worn by inspectors and they will have a Field Inspection Report form that is used for writing down inspection results. A Town vehicle will also be parked somewhere close by, which has the Town's logo on it.
If someone presenting him or herself as a Town employee fails to present proper Town of Parker picture identification or paperwork, please contact the Police Department at 303.841.9800 as soon as they leave your property.
For any questions regarding permits for any work completed or just inquiries about future projects; please contact the Building Department at building@parkeronline.org or 303.841.1970.
