This festive day will begin at 10 a.m. at the Parker Winter Market located on the north side of Pikes Peaks Drive in downtown Parker. Children’s activities including a petting zoo, pony rides and pictures with Santa will kickoff at noon. The petting zoo and pony rides, brought to you by Bellco Credit Union will be located in the parking lot of Parker Water and Sanitation District at the corner of Mainstreet and Victorian Drive. Thanks to Children’s Hospital, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving at noon at the Keller Williams office in Victorian Peaks, 11020 S. Pikes Peak Drive. Pictures will be $5, cash only and will be available from noon to 1:45 p.m. and then again after the parade from 3 to 4 p.m.
The exciting “Candy Land Christmas” themed parade will commence at 2 p.m. and will include dozens of horse-drawn carriages, wagons, marching bands and stagecoaches from across Colorado! Please join the Town in honoring the continuing service of the 2010 Grand Marshals: Chief David King, Sherriff David Weaver and Chief Dan Qualman.
The parade will begin at the Comcast Grandstand on the corner of Mainstreet and Victorian drive and will head west on Mainstreet, looping up and around Victorian Drive and back onto Mainstreet, much like the Chamber parade in the summer. Road closures will be from 1 to 4 p.m. and include E. Mainstreet, Pikes Peak Drive, Pine Drive and Victorian Circle. Parking is available in the downtown Parker area, however all lots within the parade route will be closed to exit and entry from 1 to 4 p.m. Event-goers who do not plan to stay for activities or shopping after the parade should park outside the parade route.
