Douglas County residents are invited to participate in the Saturday, July 23 electronics recycling, personal documents shredding and clothing donation event from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Sports Authority Stadium, 11901 Newlin Gulch Blvd., in Parker.
For personal documents shredding, the first three boxes or bags of paper are free of charge. An additional seven boxes or bags will be accepted for $5 each.
Electronic equipment will be accepted for a small fee, which will fund the environmentally-responsible disposal of these materials. Disposal of flat screen and CRT computer monitors will cost $10, TVs up to 32 inches will cost $18 and TVs larger than 32 inches will cost $1 per linear inch. A $1 fee will be charged for disposal of all other electronics (large home appliances will not be accepted).
Shredding of personal documents and electronics recycling is made possible thanks to event sponsors Shred-It and Metech Recycling. Clothing donations will be accepted at the event by Goodwill.
All donations accepted on behalf of the Parker Task Force will be given to this non-profit organization, which provides short-term support to those in need in the Parker area.
