Through a multi-million dollar partnership between the Town of Parker and Douglas County, two additional miles of Chambers Road will open to traffic on Oct. 15, reducing traffic volume on Lincoln Avenue and parts of Parker Road. The road will open following a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 11:30 a.m., to which the public is invited.
By partnering on this important regional transportation project, Parker and the County were able to maximize tax dollars in a tight economy. This new section of Chambers Road will provide an additional commuting option for area residents.
Due to the diligence of the project team, as well as the support of the Parker Town Council and Douglas County Commissioners, Chambers Road will open to traffic two months ahead of the projected completion date. As well, the $5 million construction project is anticipated to finish below the approved budget amount.
