Join us for the 2012 Household Chemical Round-Up on Saturday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joint Service Facility, located at 17801 E. Plaza Drive. This event is open to all Douglas County residents and proof of County residency is required at the entrance. A payment of $25 per vehicle is requested to help offset the significant cost of hazardous waste disposal.
Items that will be accepted include house, garden and pool chemicals; paint and paint products; automotive fluids; fuels; propane tanks (1-20 lbs); vehicle and household batteries; items containing mercury; ammunition; aerosols; fluorescent light bulbs, including CFLs and car/truck/SUV/tires (remove from rim). *Remember, Latex paint can be legally and safely disposed of in regular household garbage IF it is completely dried-out.
Items that will NOT be accepted include business and commercial waste; radioactive waste; electronic waste; explosive waste; smoke detectors; asbestos waste; tractor tires and scrap metal.
