The wide variety of events that take place in the Parker community each year help keep our hometown feel alive! The summer calendar is packed with great free events for our residents to enjoy, including:

Parker Farmers Market
Held weekly through October, the 80+ booth Parker Farmers Market fills Mainstreet on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market primarily sells fresh produce and other food products. Venture out and enjoy the atmosphere of downtown Parker, local shops and the great Farmers market fare. Mainstreet will be closed on Sundays during the market. Let Freedom Sing! July Fourth Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day with the Town of Parker at Salisbury Park on Wednesday, July 4 from 6 to 10 p.m. Come and enjoy family fun including live music and free children’s games and activities. Live music from Under the Radar, Rocky Mountain Brassworks and country music favorite, Buckstein will entertain all pallets! Festive concessions will be available and the grand fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. The event is free and onsite parking will be available for $5, cash only. Movies in the Park
The Parker Chamber’s FREE Movies in the Park series kicks off on July 7 at O’Brien Park. Movies are rated G and open to the public. Entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m., with the movie beginning at dusk. The series will continue on July 28, Aug. 4, Aug. 18 and Sept. 1. For more information, visit www.parkerchamber.com.

Art in the Park
Come downtown to O’Brien Park for the Parker Artists Guild’s Art in the Park event on Aug. 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. At Art in the Park, you’ll enjoy entries from more than 100 local and regional artists with a variety of works, including photography, pottery, glass, wood, jewelry, all painting media and much more. Smokin’ Brew BBQ
Join the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club Friday, Aug. 31 through Sunday, Sept. 2 for the 4th Annual Smokin’ Brew BBQ. More than 50 teams will compete to make their mouth-watering BBQ! The Smokin' Brew BBQ is a Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) sanctioned competition and a Rocky Mountain Barbecue Association Cup event. Visit www.smokinbrewbbq.com for more information.

Barker Days
Celebrate the dog days of summer at Barker Days 2012 on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During this annual fun-filled event, H2O'Brien Pool and O'Brien Park will go to the dogs! The event will feature a temporary dog park in the O’Brien Park ball field and H2O’Brien Pool! The event will also feature dog-related vendors. For more information, please visit www.ParkerRec.com.
