[ARCHIVED] Parker Welcomes New Deputy Town Administrator

Michelle Kivela

The Town of Parker is pleased to announce that Michelle Kivela has accepted the position of Deputy Town Administrator (DTA). Kivela, who will begin work June 11, 2012, has nearly 18 years of municipal experience in a wide variety of capacities. Through her previous positions she has overseen many functions and departments, including Public Works, Police, Finance, Human Resources, Recreation and Community Outreach. "Michelle brings with her a wealth of municipal experience and we look forward to having her join our team,” said Town Administrator Randy Young.

Most recently, Kivela served as the Deputy City Manager for the City of Lone Tree. She has also held positions with the City of Greenwood Village, the City of Sugar Land, Texas and the Town of Addison, Texas.

"After living in Parker for the past 10 years, I’m excited to work for the Town," said Kivela. "Parker’s reputation for quality service and employees committed to teamwork are just a few of the many things that attracted me to the position.”

Kivela replaces former Deputy Town Administrator, Phyllis O’Reilly. O’Reilly worked for the Town for nearly 10 years and held the DTA position since September 2007. Kivela holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of North Texas. Beginning June 11, she can be reached at 303.841.0353 or mkivela@parkeronline.org.
