A regular Town Council election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 to elect three Councilmembers and a Mayor to four-year terms. Serving on the Town Council is a great way to help shape the future of the Parker community!
If you are interested in running for Town Council, you are encouraged to attend a pre-candidate meeting on July 25 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at Parker Town Hall and discussion topics will include an overview of the position of Mayor and Councilmember, the process to become a candidate, how to obtain information related to council agendas, reports and calendars and any related questions.
Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 7, individuals running for Council can pick up a nomination petition at Town Hall. Potential candidates must obtain the required number of qualified signatures and file them with the Town Clerk on or before Aug. 27. After the signatures on the nomination petition are verified by the Town Clerk, the applicant’s name will be placed on the Nov. 6 ballot.
To be eligible to run for office, candidates must be at least 18 years of age and be a registered elector of the Town. Additionally, candidates must be a current resident of Parker and have resided in the Town for at least one year immediately preceding the election.
