[ARCHIVED] Experience the Parker Christmas Carriage Parade Tradition!

christmas carriage parade

Continue the holiday tradition in downtown Parker at the Christmas Carriage Parade on Saturday, Dec. 8 at noon. The Christmas Carriage Parade has become a well-known holiday favorite across Colorado. On this special afternoon, the streets of downtown Parker fill with families and eager children ready to see spectacular equestrian entries and even catch a glimpse of Mr. and Mrs. Claus! Spectators will also enjoy a petting zoo and pony rides, holiday ice sculpting, two winter markets and of course, pictures with Santa!

The 2012 parade, hosted by Swingle Landscaping, Inc., is themed “Jingle Bell Christmas,” and will begin heading west on Mainstreet at noon. Pictures with Santa will be available thanks to the Children’s Hospital after the parade for $5, cash only, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the O’Brien Park gazebo. Ice sculpting, courtesy of Xfinity, pony rides and the Parker Country Market petting zoo, will take place at O’Brien Park from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. along with the Rotary Club of Parker’s Holiday Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year the Town of Parker is honoring the LPGA’s 2013 Solheim Cup as the parade’s Grand Marshal. The Solheim Cup is coming to Parker Aug. 13-17, 2013!

Many thanks to the generous sponsors who help to make this event possible: Swingle Landscaping, Inc., The Children’s Hospital, Parker Country Market, Xfinity, Spradlin Printing, Ameriprise Financial, Our Colorado News, Wells Fargo, Parker Station Professional Offices and Noodles and Co. Also, thank you to our Town Partners for their continuous support: State Farm and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Event spectators are asked to remember that Mainstreet and Victorian Roads will be closed from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and those parked within those limits will not be able to exit until the roads are reopened. Alternative parking outside of these limits is advised. Please visit www.parkeronline.org/carriageparade for maps and more information. You may also call 303.841.0353.
