[ARCHIVED] Town to Offer Christmas Tree Recycling

The Town is holding the 1st Annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program through Jan. 24, 2010. The drop-off site will be the east paved Salisbury Park parking lot, located off of Motsenbocker Rd. This program is available to Parker residents only.

Both green and flocked real trees are accepted. Before dropping off any Christmas trees, please remove all tree stands and nails, ornaments, lights, garland and tinsel. No artificial trees or garland will be accepted. Residents should not place Christmas trees in garbage containers.

Please do not illegally dump any other items at the drop-off location.

The trees collected by the program will be chipped into mulch and will be available at no charge to residents. Remaining mulch will be utilized through out the Town and not discarded in a landfill.

Keeping trees out of the landfills helps extend the life of landfills, reduces greenhouse gas and produces a useful resource. The annual Christmas tree recycling program is just one of many ways that Parker residents can reduce, reuse and recycle.
