C.E.R.T. is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. C.E.R.T. is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will initially be on their own and their actions can make a difference.
In September, the Parker Police Department will offer C.E.R.T. training for Parker residents. During the training, citizens will learn to shut off utilities, put out small fires, treat the three killers by opening airways, controlling bleeding and treating for shock, provide basic medical aid, search for and rescue victims safely and organize themselves and spontaneous volunteers to be effective during a disaster.
The Parker Police Department’s C.E.R.T. training is provided free of charge. Your only expense will be your time and commitment. Each student will receive a certificate of completion after the final day of class.
