The Demolition / Alteration Review Process was developed to provide the property owner of a designated landmark or a property that has been identified as an eligible landmark with alternatives that could save a historic resource and to document the resource for inclusion in the historical records.
When a building permit is sought from the Town to alter, relocate or demolish a designated landmark or a property that has been identified as an eligible landmark, issuance of the permit shall be deferred until the Planning Department has been notified. The delay will not be greater than 30 calendar days from the date of the building permit and this delay does not preclude the property owner the ability to continue with any planned improvements.
