2021 Fall Season Preview

As the seasons change again, allow us to present a few suggestions for making the most of fall in the Town of Parker.

Join inaugural Parker Fall Fest activates:

Welcome the autumn season during Parker Fall Fest Sept. 25 to Oct. 2. The week will feature several family-friendly activities, including:

• Visits from Sam the Scarecrow on Mainstreet

• Prowl for Pumpkins scavenger hunt all around Parker

• Seasonal décor selfie/photo station at O’Brien Park

Take part in a Town-organized special event:

Fieldhouse Fright Night: Family-friendly Halloween celebration at the Parker Fieldhouse Oct. 23

Halloween Porch Parade: Porch/front yard decoration contest Oct. 23 to Oct. 31

Turkey Day 5K FUN Run/Walk: At the Parker Recreation Center Nov. 25

Check Out the Changing Colors: See fall’s many colors in the great outdoors at one of the community’s many public parks or trails.

Keep Active: Parker Parks and Recreation’s catalog of adult sports, youth sports, fitness classes and programs offer something for everyone looking to break a sweat or take part in some friendly competition. And remember, the Parker Recreation Center’s indoor pool is open year-round.

Be in the Audience: Attend a Parker Arts marquee event like The Oak Ridge Boys, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Clue: The Musical, or one of many Family Discovery Series, Parker Symphony Orchestra, Friday Night Jazz, and The Comedy Zone performances. Tickets for these events and more (including quickly approaching holiday season shows) can be purchased through the Parker Arts website.

The PACE Center will also celebrate its 10th anniversary this fall with a series of special commemorative events.

Art galleries at the PACE Center and The Schoolhouse, and educational classes provide even more entertainment and enrichment opportunities.

Welcome the Holiday Season: Parker’s holiday lights will be switched on during the Mayor’s Holiday Lighting Nov. 26. Festivities continue throughout the Thanksgiving holiday weekend with decoration displays, seasonal character appearances, ice sculptures and music playing along Mainstreet, plus the Parker Ice Trail’s season opening. The North Pole Experience Pass for kids ages three to 10, featuring a visit from Santa, will also return.

More details about these holiday festivities, and others, will be shared on our Community Events webpage soon.

Shop Local: To gear up for Small Businesses Saturday and the holiday shopping season, the Town will host Shop Parker Gift Week on our Facebook page Nov. 15 to 19. Gift Week highlights the goods, products and services offered by Parker’s unique business community.

Learn more about local shops, restaurants and entrepreneurs by visiting the business directory and the Choose Parker Campaign website.
